HAVE A BREAKTHROUGH AS A BEGINNER MUSICIAN

Contact Stormer Music

So you’re all excited to learn music, you have your gear, your lesson booked and your dreams of playing live in mind then you hit your lesson and it’s incredible so much great stuff, connection and more. Then you hit your week and practice is tough, things don’t seem to flow and you are struggling to remember everything from the lesson.

This is a super common experience and can be a reason people quit really early. Sadly.

It’s actually really normal as very rarely do our goals align with the reality right away, this is a chance for you to check your mindset and set realistic and attainable milestones. Here are some practical ways you might go about doing this:

  1. Set three clear goals, with timelines, make them ambitious but achievable.
  2. Go super basic in what you are learning and build up from there, keep in mind that every musician started where you are sitting.
  3. Use a metronome and repeat things over and over, mindful repetition will drill ideas in, so you can use those ideas musically later on.
  4. Be patient. This is a marathon and not a sprint. You will not see massive improvement overnight, but if you are persistent you will surprise yourself with how much you can do in a short while.

We hope that helps and if we can be of encouragement or support to you on your music journey please do not hesitate to contact us.
